I personally am pro-choice, and I believe that no one should have to face the crisis of an unplanned pregnancy.  It is difficult enough of a choice for a woman to make, and is to be kept sacred between her and her doctor – without interference by government or legislation.

The time to prevent unplanned pregnancy is prior to conception and we must do all that we can to prevent the crisis in the first place.

Nevertheless, termination of a pregnancy must be regarded as the medical procedure that it is, and as such is subject to regulation by state boards of health, not the federal government.  As a legislator, I would not support any federal action on abortion, whether in favor of – or opposition to – the practice.  It is simply not the purpose of government.
